The ultimate price

I read this article from the Times of India that suggests that we could possibly live to the age of 500, if only we sucumb to a little genetic engineering and, oh, say the loss of our reproductive organs. Apparently scientists at the University of California San Francisco tinkered with some earthworms and found they could increase their lifespan by six times. So let me ask you this, if you could, would you do it? Would you voluntarily remove your sex organs so you could live to 500?
For me, it would be no great loss based on my current lack of use. It would probably be for the best anyways – I figure I’m this close to being autistic that any offspring of mine would give Dustin Hoffman a run for his money.

  1. hell no!
Only if the entire world could live 500, and not grow old or weak. Imagine spending 100 years of your life (400 to 500 year old) looking and feeling 80 years old!? that’d be pretty crappy.

  2. Worms?!?!?! what the hell, you can cut them in half and they still go around for a while, cut a person in half and well not so much running. I think, though, i don’t think i have ever cut a person in half.
But i mean why live 500 years, when you already waste 75% of yours, why lengthen it so you can waste even more time. Sides 500 years is a long time to be a virgin, chef.

  3. Ahahahahah. I mean come on, there was that time with your mom, and then that one time, you know, with your sister. So that’s at least two chicks I’ve bagged. What happened the last time you were with a woman? Do we need to go into specifics here?

  4. I had my sex organs removed just for fun.
Just think, if we could all live to be 500, The Rolling Stones could rack up quite a few farewell tours.
But come to think of it, so could Cher.
    Life. Death. Whatever.

  5. I DEFINETLY WOULD NOT. NO MATTER WHAT THERE WOULD ALWAYS BE SOMEONE WHO WOULDN’T DO IT. SO EVENTUALLY YOU WILL BE CLOSE TO MANY THAT WILL DIE. ITS NOT WORTH IT!!
